Rob (Bob) Matthews, MBE, went blind as a teenager. Determined to lead as normal a life as possible, he became a runner and represented Great Britain for many years as a gold medal winning Paralympian. Rob and his wife, Sarah, who is a Kiwi, returned to Auckland to raise their young family.

But tragedy hadn't finished playing with his life, and he was devastated when his vibrant and healthy young wife was suddenly struck d own by a brain aneurysm, leaving him bereft and alone again. His spirited fight back from the depression that resulted to find love once more with a Kiwi design er on her OE saw him regain his interest in life and in life after running.
