AA Files is the Architectural Association School of Architectures journal of record and the successor to a long line of in-house publications (AA Notes, AA Journal, Arena and Architectural Association Quarterly) that began when the school was founded in 1847. The journal is published twice a year and is distributed to members of the Architectural Association, individual subscribers and a select network of bookshops worldwide. It is currently edited by Maria Shéhérazade Giudici, who follows Thomas Weaver (20072018), David Terrien (20042006), Mark Rappolt (20002003) and Mary Wall (19811999). Current and previous issues are available to purchase online from the AA Bookshop and other select booksellers.This is one of a series of magazines published twice yearly which records the variety of activities which take place within the Architectural Association School. The magazine is motivated by a desire to portray the spirit of the place and is aimed at students, academics and architects.
