ROBERT E. LEE, Ph.D., is a clinical director of doctoral marital and family therapy specialization at Michigan State University. He has been in the clinical practice of marital and family therapy for 30 years and, for more than two decades, has provided supervision to clinicians in private and agency practice. He is an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology, American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Lee has published extensively with regard to professional training and has helped develop and administer the national examination program in marital and family therapy.

SHIRLEY EMERSON is a Professor of Counseling and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has been in clinical practice for 20 years. Her research and writing reflect her eccentric interests -- from the results of abuse in families to the healing power of groups. She was the first Approved Marriage and Family Supervisor in Nevada, and is now actively training other supervisors. She has served on the state licensing board for 10 years, and worked on the Board of the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards.
