He authored a number of books and countless articles in his field of theology on the history of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the Brothers, the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, spirituality, and more. Brother Luke spent many years serving at Manhattan College, including as chairman of the theology/religious studies department from 1962-1970 and as director of the graduate theology program from 1970-1978. He served as a main presenter at Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies from 1986 to 2001. In the early 1990s, Brother Luke retired from teaching and spent his final years as archivist for the former New York District before his death on August 31, 2009.
