Dropping from the sky, the smokejumpers of the US Forest Service parachute into the fight against forest fires, risking their lives to keep the trees of the west from burning. Bud Filler brings back those exciting early days of aerial fire suppression, and tells what it's like to step out of airplane with a backpack filled with flimsy nylon, and nothing below but a hillside full of rocks and a raging wildfire.
