Whenever the Underworld sends forth a new champion to terrify law-abiding citizens, The Spider renders swift justice through the courts of his trusted .45 automatics. In his civilian identity, that of wealthy activist Richard Wentworth, he relies upon a small, fiercely devoted group in his war against injustice-Nita Van Sloan, Jackson, Ram Singh. To the police and Underworld alike, he is a dangerous vigilante, but to the innocent victims of crime, he is a knight in black. Von der hinteren Coverseite

Fear stalked the corridors and offices on Capitol Hill, for it was from the ranks of the mighty-the rulers and law-makers of America-that the Silver Assassins sought their victims! Singly, in pairs and in numbered groups they died, laying down their lives for their country-while panic spread, and The SPIDER, alone aware of the terrific catastrophe which impended, fought through black, bodiless shadows to reach and destroy the menace which festered underground!
