She saw first hand how the job affected the families and the family affected the job, something she hopes she's portrayed in the Rocky Bluff P.D. series. When her son-in-law became a policeman, he added to her interest by telling her stories and taking her on a ride-along. More ride-along with male and female officers have added to her store of knowledge. As a member of the Public Safety Writers Association, she's made many friend in law enforcement. Meredith is a member of four chapters of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, PSWA, Writers of Kern and Epic.
