Miller works on the edge of art and architecture. His startling creations - unlikely collisions of televisions with refrigerators and acoustic speakers with dishwashers - work as metaphors for consumer culture. Whether installed in a shopping mall parking lot or in a museum the works delight and disturb the viewer with a surrealism that is more than skin-deep: Miller's goal is to literally embody the catastrophe of consumerism gone awry. An essay an an interview are accompanied by models, sketches, plans and photographs of on-site installations.
