« By temperament, Simeoni was an epistemologist for whom the primordial question was how to define knowledge. What counts as knowledge and why, and what are the conditions which allow knowledge to come into existence and to circulate? In elegant and compelling formulations, Daniel encouraged his readers to ask the most fundamental questions about the boundaries which define truth. » (Sherry Simon, Concordia University)
