The Coast to Coast walk runs for 184 miles (296km) through the finest scenery in northern England. Its end points, the lovely villages of St Bees and Robin Hood's Bay, are both accessible by public transport. The whole walk takes most people from 12 to 16 days, and can readily be completed in two separate weeks.

Devised by the legendary Alfred Wainwright, the route passes through three national parks - the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors - areas rich in history, heritage and wildlife. There are welcoming pubs and plenty of walker-friendly accommodation on or near the route

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

After a long career in education, information technology and academic publishing, Jacquetta became interested in long-distance walking and trekking. After completing the West Highland Way, her first long walk, in 1998 she progressed to Mount Kilimanjaro, which she has since summited four times by different routes. She is a member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild and in 2016 won its Award for Excellence (jointly with Max Landsberg) for their jointly authored guidebook Trek to Everest.
