His previous publications include Aids to Operative Surgery (1986), Principles of Operative Surgery (2nd edn, 1996) and House Surgeon's Survival Guide (2nd edn, 2000).

Leslie H. Blumgart, MD, FACS, FRCS, FRCPS, is Chief, Hepatobiliary Service, and Enid A. Haupt Chair in Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA. His previous publications include Operative Liver and Biliary Surgery (1996), Atlas of the Liver, Biliary Tract and Pancrease Surgery (1998), Hepatobiliary Cancer (2000) and the award-winning Surgery of the Liver and Biliary Tract (3rd edn, 2000).
