Inhaltsangabe

Originally published in 1925, Elements of Form and Design in Classic Architecture is a useful and informative read for students, historians or anyone with an interest in classic architecture. Setting out the geometrical principles which have guided architects since the times of ancient Greece and Rome, with the aid of numerous black and white photos and line drawings, chapters expand upon the construction of circular, semi-circular, elliptical, square and octagonal plans; vestibules, staircases, pavilions, facades, porticos, arches and more. The author, Arthur Stratton, was a leading architectural historian of the time, with additional expertise in Renaissance and Baroque styles.
