In 2000, he became the first and only man in the UK and Europe to reach its highest attainable level 10th degree Grand Master opening schools across England. I know at least 350 ways to kill with my bare hands, he admits. Mercifully, Kenpo gave me control and made me realise killing isn t the only option.

Mike Dunn has spent a career in national journalism, working for the United Kingdom s biggest and most-revered daily and Sunday newspapers. He is now a full-time writer. In April, 2016, his first ghost-written autobiography, The Belt Boy, was published by Austin Macauley and tells the harrowing, yet entirely true story of a British champion boxer who was physically and sexually abused as a child, but kept his ordeal secret for 37 years. It was shortlisted in May, 2017, for the prestigious Cross Sports Book of the Year Award and also longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year award. The award s founder, Graham Sharp, commented: This was an astonishingly well written book, deeply disturbing and incredibly honest. It resonated with all the judges. Mike was able to secure extensive media coverage for The Belt Boy, with features appearing in the Sunday Telegraph, London Evening Standard, Daily Star, Fabulous magazine (The Sun) and Boxing News as well as the BBC World Service, Sky TV and TalkSport radio. Prior to writing, Mike was Head of Sport for The Sun and Sun on Sunday; News of the World; Independent and Independent on Sunday; the i paper; Today newspaper and London's Evening Standard.
