I was born on 26 July 1950 in the Southern General Hospital in the south of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. On that day my father had gone to work in the shipyard as usual. Not long after he had gone to work my mother started to have contractions. In due course she was taken by ambulance to hospital. The very first thing I remember saying to my mother when still very young was that I had lived before. Who I had been or where I had lived remained a mystery to me; I was able to recount experiences which I had had whilst out of the body. Psychologically speaking it was a dream-like state, as though I were a neuron of memory; then I remember beginning to transcend my physical form and looking out of my eyes. I heard a voice saying to me 'this is your next task'. I was eight months old. My mother was changing my clothes. This is John Houston's first experience. Years passed. I lived my life in expectation of meeting people whom I had known before. Then when I was eight years old and walking to primary school in the area of Castlemilk in Glasgow, the vision came to me. Right there and right then I realised that there was going to be a great transition for the Human Race. It was because of the necessity of this transition that I had come here to the Earth because I would be involved in this transition. That was what my life would entail. One year later, while in class at Netherton Primary, I realised that I would have to be transformed. It was as though I was looking down on myself from a distance. I could see my crown chakra. It was being activated. I realised that I would have to be transformed, like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis. How I was then was one thing; yet how I was then was not the way I truly was for there was a power within me which demanded an awakening within me and of me. I experienced a great restlessness during adolescence, but I had seen the vision and I was thereby empowered to deal with anything that came my way. It wasn't until early January 1980 that things really started again. I saw the thousand-petalled lotus of Krishna and, thereafter, the writings began to come to me. I wrote them down as I was inspired to do. I didn't go looking for this Truth or this Knowledge, because it came to me. I am who I am and I will be whom I will be.
