In this, one of the rare colour editions of 'Thought-Forms', Annie Besant and Charles W. Leadbeater describe how the human aura changes constantly in size, form and colour, depending an individual's mental and emotional state. The book features the original fifty-eight full colour illustrations that give the reader a direct experience of a psychic's impressions of the aura, what Besant herself called "the living light of other worlds". For Besant and Leadbeater, thoughts were as real and powerful as words or deeds, their hope being that the vibrant images would allow everyone to "realise the nature and power of his thoughts, acting as a stimulus to the noble, a curb on the base". Born in London on 1st October 1847, Annie Besant was described as a 'Diamond Soul', a complex mix of spiritual seeker and social reformer, advocating progressive ideas on such topics as education, trade unions, birth control, female suffrage and Irish and Indian self- rule. Besant eventually settled in the sub-Continent, embraced Theosophy, and wrote widely on the religious movement's views on karma, reincarnation and the purpose of human existence. She was herself blessed with spiritual gifts, one of which - the ability to view an individual's aura or psychic energy field - forms the basis of this present work. Charles W. Leadbeater was ordained as an Anglican priest but gradually felt drawn towards gnosticism and theosophy. He met Annie Besant in 1894, a few years after she became president of the Theosophical Society, and collaborated with her in exploring such shared interests as the human aura, aspects of the soul and occult chemistry.

Annie Besant was a prominent British social activist, feminist, and writer who became interested in spiritual and philosophical matters during her lifetime. One of her most notable works was "An Introduction to Yoga," which was written before 1908. In this book, Besant provided a comprehensive overview of the practice and philosophy of yoga, drawing on her own experiences and research. She discussed the various types of yoga, their principles, techniques, and benefits, and emphasized the importance of yoga as a tool for personal and spiritual growth. Besant's work was groundbreaking in its accessibility and comprehensiveness, as it was one of the first English-language books on the subject. Her writing helped to popularize yoga in the West and contributed to its growing interest and understanding. Moreover, Besant's "An Introduction to Yoga" remains a significant work in the field, and her contribution to the spread of yoga and Eastern philosophy in the West continues to be appreciated by many.

Paperback. Zustand: Good. What do ideas look like? This clairvoyant view of the shape, color, and atmospheric effect of mental energy includes black-and-white drawings and color plates to convey a graphic representation of the power of thought.Prominent Theosophists Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater were pioneers in asserting that thoughts are, indeed, things. Originally released in 1901, Thought-Forms is a seminal work on what thoughts look like. It had an impact far beyond the circle of its primary readers and greatly influenced leading artists such as Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky.Simple in style and clearly written, Thought-Forms is a classic of the Theosophical tradition that has as much to say in our own day as it did a century ago. It lucidly sets forth a way to conceive of the invisible realms within and around us, with implications both for how we view the world and how we act in it.Discussion includes the meaning of color, thought forms built by music, and the nature of helpful thoughts. Based on the authors' clairvoyant vision, its illustrations suggest the form thoughts take in relation, for instance, to anger, fear, intellect, sympathy, devotion, and a meditative state. Annie Besant herself describes the book's purpose as being to serve as a striking moral lesson to every reader, making him realize the nature and power of his thoughts, acting as a stimulus to the noble and a curb to the base. With this belief and hope we send it on its way. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers CIN190973599XG
