Críticas:
Just finished reading this incredible book by a woman that has gone through it all and is still standing. What an incredible journey and story, one that continues today. We need more women like Daliah to tell their story and have their voices heard. It's one thing to support someone who is transgendered but one could never imagine the pain, the suffering, the struggles, the battles and forgiveness that a transgender person must face to be who they really are, and this book helped me see that fight in a different light. I recommend you all read this powerful and telling book. --Amazon

I've never written a book review before. Normally my response to books I've read never really go beyond or was good it was boring. However Daliah wrote a book that reads surprising fast and flowed very nicely similar to Dan Brown novels I've read. All though I may be impartial to Daliahs book because I lived through part of her story. She has always been talented! Wether it's designing evening gowns , styling hair or now... Author. I swell with pride knowing my friend has so eloquently wrote the story of her life down for all to ready. So yeah my rating is good. Translation - pick up the book it was a colorful read. --Amazon

Purchased Daliah's memoir the first day the book was released. I was excited to support her in her first book and excited to read about her life and stories I did not know about. Knowing Daliah on a personal level and re-reading some of the experiences we lived together made the book much more enjoyable. She provides an in-depth look at her life and experiences in this very personal memoir. She also addresses some of the issues that go on in the lives of homosexual people as well as transgender people. Her fears, anxieties, happy and sad moments, her family and ultimately her love life is all portrayed in this book. This book is inspiring in every sense. Daliah exemplifies what a true fighter is, a determined individual, and someone who does not settle until she gets what is right for her. --Amazon
Reseña del editor:
Daliah Husu is a writer and poet whose work focuses on themes of love, self-acceptance and spiritual and emotional fulfilment. Her lifelong struggle with gender identity, sexuality, social acceptance, and substance abuse has inspired her to share her remarkable story. Living the life of her dreams won't be easy - especially since she was born male. But her dream life may yet come true - if she truly wants it. In this raw and emotionally charged memoir, Daliah Husu declares her trans womanhood with an honest and authoritative voice. Searching for her true identity, yearning for her mother's acceptance, and desperate to find love, Daliah shares her painful, yet enriching journey into self-actualisation and womanhood - a journey that starts as a young boy growing up without his father or mother in the slums of Santo Domingo, and who later transforms into a young woman obsessed with the attention of men, forced into sex work, and haunted by alcohol and drug abuse. Remarkably, I Am Woman emphasises that in the midst of our loneliness, suffering and darkness, our hopes and dreams continue to illuminate our path to personal freedom, survival and ultimately love.
