The RNJB captures the rigour and poetry of scripture in language as suitable for reading out loud as for peaceful study. It was translated and edited by the Revd Henry Wansbrough OSB, an English biblical scholar, Catholic priest, and monk of Ampleforth Abbey.
Fr Henry Wansbrough OSB translated the Revised New Jerusalem Bible and the New Jerusalem Bible into English. He is a celebrated biblical scholar and a Benedictine monk of Ampleforth Abbey in Yorkshire. Formerly he was Master of St Benet's Hall, Oxford, and a member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission.
