Inhaltsangabe

Back of Beyond.                                                                                                                                          Social work manager, Hughie MacDonald, runs off to his childhood hometown in rural Argyll where he accepts a basic grade post – anything to avoid what he’s been through. His plan to recover, and maybe even find love, falls apart as he is drawn into the troubling case of a small neglected boy, Tommy. Enquiries lead Hughie into the towns underbelly of indifference, seedy landlords, Teflon-coated bosses and small-time hash dealers. Overwhelmed, the nightmare he ran from begins to seep back into his mind. Hughie has always looked for redemption through the rescue of the fallen, but what is growing within him has darker motives – ones that could take him closer to a straight-jacket than the truth.                                                                                                                         Beyond the truth - beyond sanity. Contemporary fiction, social realism, noir, off-beat crime, gritty romance and black humour all in one weird journey of a novel.
