Hsiau-Li Liu is a professional media reporter and autobiographer. Since 1985, she has worked as a news reporter in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. Early in her career she created a series of in-depth reports on the dilemmas of young overseas students from Taiwan, which widely raised the attention of people in Taiwan and the U.S. Chinese community. Also, her investigative report on a criminal from Taiwan who served time in a Northern California prison won the ¡§Best Special Reporting Award,¡¨ from the Northern California Media Association.

Her published book has also won the ¡§Good Reading Award¡¨ from Taiwan's News Agency.

Ms. Liu was valedictorian when she graduated in 1979 from Chinese Cultural University with a major in Journalism. She then received a scholarship from the College of Journalism at the University of Missouri. Ms. Liu has also received a Master¡¦s degree in both Journalism and English Education. She is now the Director of News Reporting at the San Francisco branch of the Chinese World Journal Newspaper, and the main contributor for the commentaries in the ¡§San Francisco People Talk¡¨ column.

Echo is the seventh book by Hsiau-Li Liu. Her published works have included Tian Chang-Lin's Way to Berkeley; Software Dragon: Charles Wang and Computer associates; Big Winner--100 Top Chinese American; Believe and Achieve; Endless Love; and Chinese under the Star Stripe Flag. She has also translated Successful Natural Rhythms and a novel entitled, The Rules of the Game.
