Inhaltsangabe

The Eastwood/Huntington story has one foot in the past and the other in the halls of Enron Corporation. It played out during the rising powers of the Robber Barons in the east and the California Big Four. The story is threaded through the whole cloth of history and told through the eyes of John Eastwood, a man of titanic ability who made his mark by creating the world's largest hydroelectric project in a part of the Sierra Nevada called Big Creek. As the driving force behind the dream, Eastwood had to convince financier Henry Huntington that the massive project was feasible. Huntington was a man who demanded absolute control of everything he touched which created conflict with the tenacious Eastwood. The Big Creek Project is not well known today, although at the time it rivaled the Panama Canal in scope, difficulty and ingenuity.
