Life On The Edge

Winning in most cases is calculated by an edge. Life or death often hangs on an edge. The Space Shuttle Challenger exploded because of the edge of one seal didn't fit. People's lives were lost, an entire industry jeopardized, school children traumatized, and a nation mourned because of an o-ring measured in microns.

Life, success, leadership are all about edges. Are you leading or following? Making progress or falling back?

Having a sharpened edge is crucial to win, to lead others and, as Christians, to edge out our greatest opponent in life, the devil. The subtle deception of the enemy of our soul is to get us to live with less than a "sharpened edge" to our lives. Sharpening our edge means reaching a purposed destination, and getting there God's way.

We have a purpose, a destination that God has ordained for us, that caused us to be born and live right now in this generation and this area. Whether we achieve that purpose, and whether we do it God's way, is dependent upon whether we rely on our own abilities and devices or depend on God's.

As God's children, and His amabassadors in this earth, our edges are many and varied. How we handle life's edgy areas-ethics, finances, prayer life, personal spiritual growth, heart, appetite to know God-determines how successful we are in life's race. The environment you fashion out of your thoughts, your beliefes, your ideals, your philosophy is the only climate you will ever live in. We can really live by experiencing God joining His supernatural power with our human ability. God moves on our behalf as we allow Him to focus our lives and sharpen our edge. We can set our edges, then thrust ourselves God-ward with reckless abandon.
