The evolving idea of a new world order is also discussed, along with issues of global conflict and cooperation, the effects on human rights theory and practice, and the impact of international global covenants on human rights implementation in India. Meticulous in its study, this is a comprehensive survey of democracy, development, public administration, and civil society.
Rumki Basu is a professor of public administration and currently the chairperson of the department of political science, Jamia Millia Islamia. She has published 25 articles in leading national and international journals and is the author of six books, including Public Administration: Concepts and Theories and The United Nations: Structure & Functions of an International Organization.
