Inhaltsangabe

An engineer with experience in analog and digital electronic circuit design and software development, Goble now runs his own company on automation safety and reliability. Here he explains how to evaluate the safety of control systems within the framework of the ISA-84.01 standard on quantitative performance levels for safety instrumented systems. His topics are understanding random events, failure as the triumph of stress over strength, reliability and safety, failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, Markov modeling, diagnostics, common cause, software reliability, modeling detail, constructing reliability and safety models, system architectures, safety instrumented systems, and lifecycle costing.
