David J. McLaughlin has written six books on the early history of California and New England as well as an illustrated timeline of Junípero Serra’s life, and he has published several collections of his California Mission images.

Rubén G. Mendoza is an archaeologist, writer, photographer, widely published author, and founding faculty member of the California State University, Monterey Bay.
