Críticas:
I love good mysteries. I love good wine. So imag- ine my joy at finding a great mystery about wine, and winemaking, and the whole culture of that fascinating world. And then I find it s the first of a series. I can see myself enjoying many a bottle of wine while enjoying the adventures of Benjamin Cooker in this terrific new series. William Martin, New York Times bestselling author"

Unusually adept at description, the authors manage to paint everything...The journey through its pages is not to be rushed. ForeWord Reviews"

Booklist: Alaux and Balen offer intrigue and plenty of good eating and drinking within just a few pages. Already turned into a popular television series in France, this book and its successors will whet appetites of fans of both Iron Chef and Murder, She Wrote. "

An excellent mystery series in which you eat, drink and discuss wine as much as you do murders. Bernard Frank, Le Nouvel Observateur"

Rachel Cotterill Book Reviews on Treachery in Bordeaux: "An enjoyable, quick read with the potential for developing into a really unique series."
There are some great descriptions of the food eaten and the wine drunk (they seemed to be a little more detailed in the previous book), as well as some of the local traditions and fokelore. The denouement comes a little quick and the clues are a little tenuous to get to that point, but that is only a small point in an otherwise enjoyable and short book. Writing about Books.
"Taking us through French vineyards, the laboratory, dinners with descriptive foods which will make your mouth water, and oh my, crime scenes, Monsieur Alaux and Monsieur Balen provide us with light reading that is more intelligent than your average cozy mystery. Relatively short in length but long enough to provide several hours of reading pleasure." MLISReaders2015
I appreciated the Holmes-and-Watson interaction of the main characters. I liked elements of backstory bringing depth and credulity to the mystery at play. My only regret was having to skip entire kindle pages of lists of wine regions Between, before, after, and parallel in an effort to explain differences and finer elements of varietals. 5-star Netgalley review
"Perfect for all wine aficionados with a detective mind. It provides also great tourist ideas if you plan a trip to Burgundy. Words and Peace
My second encounter with this author duo, and I found this installment just as intriguing and engrossing as the first. This book, we are transported through the region of Burgundy, the authors ability to bring the scents, scenes and taste of the region to life as Benjamin Cooker heads from his home on the trip of a wine-lover s dreams: a tasting tour of Burgundy. I am, Indeed
Cooker takes us to wine tasting session and gives us a lesson on how to go about one if we were ever inclined to do one. He tells us the difference not only between the wines of the Loire valley and those of the Burgundy region, but also of the nature and terroir of both. He is as usual accompanied by his handsome and heartbreaking assistant Virgile on this leisurely tour of Burgundy. Valli's Book Den
Like its predecessors, this book is a wonderful combination of entertainment and education. We learn about wines, local folklore, history and, this time, some Latin. There s suspense, suspicion, desperation, humour, lust and erudition. Benjamin Cooker displays his customary calm, loyalty and tenacity as he gets to grips with this definitely different mystery that faces him. Books are Cool
If you want a strong sense of provincial French atmosphere, then this is the book for you. It is also excellent at pointing out the differences between the various regions of France. I would recommend it as an escapist holiday read or more generally for fans of cosy fiction. Crime Fiction Lover

Reseña del editor:
The Winemaker Detective leaves his native Bordeaux to go to Burgundy for a dream wine tasting trip to France's other key wine-making region. Between Beaune, Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, it turns into a troubling nightmare when he stumbles upon a mystery revolving around messages from another era. What do they mean? What dark secrets from the deep past are haunting the Clos de Vougeot? Does blood need to be shed to sharpen people's memory? A made-for-TV series.
