Inhaltsangabe

The discovery of a fifth locket with only four known siblings in a custody battle opens the way to a new mystery and a new threat for Aleta, who is still in the throes of her latest ordeal. What happened to the fifth child? And why did the father, Kurt Van Horne, spur such fear in his eldest son, Tyler Roach? Amidst the accusations hides a plot to bury the truth. A plot that brings an already exhausted Aleta to the breaking point. Does she have the strength to overcome so many challenges? In the seventh book of the continuing series that began with Susan Davis Sandberg’s “The Reluctant Prophet”, Aleta struggles to reconcile her place in the world.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Susan Davis Sandberg has been a professional writer and dog lover for decades. She has won awards for magazine articles in addition to writing a popular column for nearly a decade that highlighted her dog’s antics. Serving time as a mother of six, a teacher and a health plan booklet writer, Susan worked diligently on numerous suspense novels when she could find time. Even in retirement she continues to write, with her dogs by her side, from the crack of dawn well into the evening—the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper.
