Two libretti from Carey Scott Wilkerson, the author of Seven Dreams of Falling.
Transformation, transcendence, escape, and even plain old flight—all recurring themes in Carey Scott Wilkerson’s writing for the page and stage. Whether he is exploring the untold backstory of the Icarus myth or the campy-mystical life of a rural-Georgia folk artist, Wilkerson “searches for the human drama in legendary tales and the hidden magic in everyday life.” Here, together for the first time, are the librettos of two operas that have their feet on the ground but offer us lessons in levitation.
Running time for Eddie Stone Song: 60 minutes.
Running time for The Ariadne Songs: 60 minutes.
