Des Taylor has a passion for people, with a desire to see them reach their fullest potential. Born in Seville, Spain, Des spent her formative years in the Kentucky Derby Region, and the Historic Selma, Alabama, the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement. Des has worked as a journalist/reporter for the State of Alabama's oldest and historic newspaper The Selma Times-Journal, interviewing foot soldiers and leaders of the Civil Rights Movement as well as city, state and national public figures, dignitaries, and celebrities. Her favorite writings include that which allow her to tell the stories of the unsung heroes that inspire, empower, and impact others. Having professional experience in Public Relations and Marketing in Higher Education and for a nonprofit law firm in Alabama, she has also worked in television advertising for a Fox affiliate in Montgomery, AL. With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Dramatic Arts from Auburn University-Montgomery, and a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from Troy University, Des is a lifetime member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society. She has won awards from the Alabama Press Association; is published by United Press International (UPI) and Google News; and her work has also been featured in Jet Magazine and other print and online publications. Des enjoys reading/studying the Bible, traveling, surfing the Internet for Celebrity News, and spending time with her five sisters, nephews and nieces, in her spare time.
