The catch is, the stores are fronts for the mob, and the teens must decide whether to break bad or try to go legit, all while trying to navigate all the high stakes John Hughes type high school drama of the 1980s.  Finding a date for the prom is one thing, but doing it with the Columbian drug cartel out to kill you is another.

Don is the co-creator of History Channel's drama series KNIGHTFALL and producer of critically-acclaimed McDonald's origin story THE FOUNDER starring Michael Keaton. Handfield’s first comic series The Rift was picked up by Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment for the final episode of the reboot of Amazing Stories anthology on Apple +. Handfield wrote and directed the Saturn Award winning film TOUCHBACK starring Kurt Russell. Handfield also wrote the novel, which was a top seller on Amazon and received a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly.

Handfield grew up in Indiana and Northern Virginia, and went to college at The Ohio State University before moving to Los Angeles, where he currently resides with his wife and two kids. 

James Haick III is the writer and creator of the popular comic series SOLAR FLARE, LONG LIVE PRO WRESTLING,  & THIRD WAVE 99. He also co-created/co-wrote THE MALL with writer/producer Don Handfield. James is also the President of Scout Comics & Entertainment, Inc and heads the website and marketing division of the company. He has years of sales experience and continues to manage his own financial services practice in Bonita Springs Florida.
