Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Mila Mostova, a teacher in Ukraine fled war-torn Ukraine with her children, leaving behind her home and career. Air raid sirens and explosions forced her to seek safety, leading her to Duluth, Minnesota, through the United for Ukraine program. There, she rebuilt her life, supporting her children, working in mental health, and helping others overcome challenges. She continues to advocate for Ukraine and raise awareness about the immigrant experience.

Born in Ukraine, Diana has loved drawing since childhood. Though her parents encouraged her to pursue architecture—leading her to earn a master’s degree in the field—her passion for illustration never faded. She began her career by illustrating a spread for a Ukrainian children’s magazine, which sparked her journey into children’s book illustration. Two years ago, she moved to the U.S. due to the war, joining her husband, who has lived here for 11 years. In California, she deepened her expertise in digital art and collaborated with self-published authors to bring their books to life.

Green Card Voices is a non-profit organization dedicated to building inclusive and integrated communities between immigrants and their communities through multimedia storytelling.
