Shawn Chakrabarti is an accomplished educator and school leader with extensive experience in K-12 and adult education, specializing in holistic, family-focused approaches for immigrant communities. He is the founder of The Family Place PCS, a nationally recognized 2Gen school serving immigrant families in Washington, D.C. He also serves as a federal subject matter expert on language acquisition and the U.S. Citizenship Test. Shawn is skilled in curriculum design, federal grants management, and teacher training, with a proven ability to develop impactful educational publications and resources. He is a published author and leader of national initiatives promoting citizenship education, bringing a passion for empowering families and fostering inclusive education.
Jennifer Gagliardi, a former Silicon Valley IT professional, has taught ESL and Citizenship for over 20 years at Milpitas Adult School. She founded the US Citizenship Podcast (uscitizenpod.com), creating and distributing free digital resources for English language learners preparing for their naturalization interview. She is the author of two books: US Citizenship Bootcamp and U.S. Citizenship for Dummies, 2nd edition. Jennifer also presents on Citizenship and Technology at Adult Education conferences for the Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN), moderates the ESL Civics and Naturalization Education Professional Learning Network for TESOL.
