Math Mammoth Review Workbook Grade 8 is intended to give students a thorough review of eighth grade math following the topics listed in the Common Core Standards. The book has both topical as well as mixed (spiral) review worksheets and includes both topical tests and a comprehensive end-of-year test. The tests can also be used as review worksheets instead of tests. Please note: The content for this workbook is taken from Math Mammoth Grade 8 Complete Curriculum (Light Blue Series) so this book is redundant if you already own Math Mammoth grade 8. You can use this workbook for various purposes: for summer math practice to keep a student from forgetting math skills during other break times or to prepare students who are going into algebra 1. The topics reviewed in this workbook are: exponents scientific notation geometric transformations volume angle relationships linear equations introduction to functions graphing linear equations systems of linear equations square roots and the Pythagorean Theorem bivariate data Please note this book does not contain lessons or instruction for the topics. It is not intended for initial teaching. It also will not work if the student needs to completely re-study these topics (the student has not learned the topics at all). For that purpose please consider Math Mammoth Grade 8 Complete Curriculum which has all the necessary instruction and lessons.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Maria Miller was born and grew up in Finland where she also received a master's degree in mathematics in 1997. She loves math and teaching, so becoming a math teacher was a natural career for her. Miller started writing math books in 2002, prompted by her experiences in tutoring homeschooled children. She felt the books they were using were inferior, especially when it came to conceptual understanding of mathematics, so she began to write books that focus on the concepts and the "why" of mathematics, though not forgetting the "how" and the needful practice. Over the years, her materials have become popular and appreciated, both among parents and teachers. In her free time, she likes walking, bicycling, swimming, reading, helping out with Inspire4.com, playing piano, and listening to music.
