Inhaltsangabe

Someone wisely said, "The busier you are, the more quiet time you need!" Yet, we often lose sight of our need to stop and commune with God because the noise of the world distracts us. What did the Lord do after He had created the Heavens and the Earth? He rested. But it is difficult for us to do the same.

Christians must understand the spiritual nature of rest. It is not merely a necessary step to resume our work. It’s true—rest recharges us to be more productive. But the importance of rest goes well beyond maintaining our physical energy. Rest honors the covenant God made with man through the gift of His presence.

Author Linda Acker expertly explains the significance of spiritual rest, providing 60 devotionals to foster Christlike growth. The acronym R.E.S.T. is her shorthand for describing God's desired way for us to become more like Him. We are to:

• Rest in the finished work of Jesus. We cannot earn our salvation or a place in Heaven through our works.
• Enjoy His presence. He'll be there for us when we need him. Where we are, He is.
• Seek to live for Him. Stepping away from our busy lives for time with the Lord reveals more of God's best plan.
• Trust Him. That's easier said than done. But it builds our faith to do so!

Uncover the Truth of God's Word through these short, impactful lessons about joyful communion with God.
