As World War Ⅱ erupts in Europe, under Hitler's brutal Nazi regime, siblings Sara and Icek face an unimaginable nightmare. First, confined within the suffocating walls of a ghetto, they are later uprooted and thrust into a harrowing web of concentration camps, culminating in the horrors of Bergen-Belsen. There, they experience and witness unspeakable atrocities'—starvation, beatings, death marches, and psychological abuse.
In 1945, liberation arrives. Sara and Icek, shadows of their former selves, miraculously find each other amidst the horrific devastation of Bergen-Belsen. Their fragile existence moves to a temporary refugee camp close to the concentration camp, where survivors find some temporary solace.
Sweden extends a lifeline, ferrying holocaust survivors to safety. Hospitals and refugee camps become safe sanctuaries, but stability remains elusive. Sara and Icek, in different camps, exchange poignant letters, weaving a tapestry of hope. As they grapple with their trauma and illnesses, only one will forge a path toward a brighter future.
