Inhaltsangabe

Randy was losing his vision, but the adopted dog never let that get him down. As his people and the vets did their best to help him, Resilient Randy just kept his head up and his tail a-waggin' hoping for the best and dealing with whatever came his way.

This true story, told from Randy's perspective in English and Spanish, provides inspiration for children and adults who are dealing with medical challenges, as well as for owners of pets with special needs. As Randy demonstrates, life may not always turn out the way we expect, but it can still be joyful.

Resilient Randy Loses His Vision includes resource materials for parents, guardians, and caregivers on maintaining resilience when faced with medical adversities and on caring for special needs pets.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Betsy Christensen is a retired visual arts teacher who has loved dogs for as long as she can remember. As a child, her parents told her she couldn't have a dog because they didn't want to deal with the barking and shedding, but she researched breeds until she found one that did neither. For her eleventh birthday, her parents admitted defeat and got her a basenji, named Sheba. As an adult, Betsy has had two rescue dogs, Chutney and Randy, who became instant family members. Betsy lives in Bothell, WA with her husband Eric where they raised two amazing children, Grace and Carl, who both still live and work in the Pacific Northwest. This is Betsy's first book, but she plans to write more stories about Resilient Randy. Visit her website ResilientRandy.com for updates and follow Randy's daily activities on Instagram @sweetblindk9.
