Inhaltsangabe

A story of courage, confidence, and chasing your dreams — on and off the field.

Along the way, readers will also pick up real goalkeeper tips, from positioning and focus to handling pressure, as Lucas learns the techniques and mindset that help him grow both on and off the pitch.

Twelve-year-old Lucas has always loved football, but when he’s chosen as goalkeeper for Oakridge FC, the pressure feels heavier than ever. Every mistake stands out. Every goal conceded feels personal. As his new team prepares for the biggest tournament of the year, Lucas must find the courage to lead from the back, even when doubts creep in.

At home, his bedroom walls are covered with Liverpool posters and dreams of becoming like his hero, Alisson Becker. One evening, his dad sits beside him and shows him highlights of Gianluigi Buffon — the legendary Italian keeper whose fearless leadership and loyalty to the game inspire Lucas in a way he’s never felt before.

On the field, he’s learning what it really means to stand tall — for himself, for his teammates, and for the game he loves. With help from Coach Torres and his new friends at Oakridge FC, Lucas discovers that being a great keeper isn’t about saving every shot — it’s about never giving up.

Filled with heart, teamwork, and inspiration, Lucas: Between the Posts kicks off the Oakridge FC series — a motivational football adventure perfect for readers ages 9–14 who love the game and the lessons it teaches.
