The author has served with distinction in the United States Army, 1963-1993; founded and led the Pacific American Foundation, 1993-2004, a community nonprofit organization; and founded and led the Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO), Hui O Hana Pono, 2004-present, a family of six companies engaged in Government contracts and two companies in the commercial sector, a real estate company and a wealth management firm. The author has been privileged to work alongside incredible leaders and managers and honored to share his thoughts of decision making gained from more than 54 years of experiences in the trenches and in the Board rooms. His first book, The Kamakas of Waikane, describes the influences that impacted his younger years; in this book, the author analyzes four community nonprofit projects and four for-profit contracts in suggesting that leadership has more alikeness than un-alikeness in successfully leading community nonprofit organizations or for-profit businesses.
