Prior to working as a freelance courier, Edmund spent Twenty years working as a retail manager, primarily within the food sector. When the time came for him to move on, his options were limited as he did not have great formal, academic qualifications behind him, so he decided that he would try and get work doing something that he had always enjoyed - DRIVING! This led him to becoming a freelance courier/owner-driver, which he did for many more years, working for different employers and undertaking many different types of work. At first, it was a difficult change to make, but fairly quickly, Edmund found himself wishing that he had made the change much sooner. In this book, the author hopes that the reader will avoid many of the rookie mistakes that he made when he first starting out driving for a living and that they will gain the knowledge and confidence to become successful freelance couriers in their own right and enjoy many years profitably driving the nations highways.
