Inhaltsangabe

Can acting be taught? Marlon Brando, James Dean and Meryl Streep had at least one important thing in common. They all studied with Bobby Lewis. Who is Bobby Lewis? Funny you should ask. Not many people are familiar with the name and yet he is one of the most influential acting teachers of the 20th Century. You might be more familiar with the names Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler and Elia Kazan. They all had something in common too. They were all members of Actors Studio. Bobby Lewis was one of the founders. He was also an original member of the Group Theatre. As Bobby’s student, resident stage manager for the Robert Lewis Acting Company, and his friend I had the opportunity to record classes, lectures and rehearsals. Bobby speaks to all who are interested in the creative process. While the focus is on the actor, it speaks to a larger audience. One that appreciates the arts and what makes the great artist tick. No wonder Meryl Streep was one of his favorite students.
