Muzan Alneel's posthumous collected writings bring together a rare combination of development policy, political economy, and revolutionary clarity. Edited by Gussai Sheikheldin, this volume traces Alneel's central argument: that development is not a technocratic exercise, but a struggle over power, livelihoods, and dignity--and that industrial policy, if designed from the standpoint of ordinary people, can be a vehicle for democratic transformation. The book opens with an introduction on Alneel's life and intellectual legacy, situating her work within Sudan's December Revolution and the wider debates on late industrialization in the Global South. It then gathers key essays on people-centred industrial policy--from her evaluation of Sudan's post-2019 policy trajectory and its implications for sustainable development, to reflections on strategic governance, appropriate technology, and the challenges of industrialization in conditions of war. A second section turns to revolution and counterrevolution, examining the endurance of Sudan's uprising and the organizing power of Resistance Committees, alongside an interview on pathways for change. The final chapters expand outward to global solidarity, linking Sudan's struggle to Palestine and anti-imperialist development debates. The book closes with a curated set of tributes and obituaries, capturing the breadth of Alneel's impact and the urgency of her unfinished project.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A Monumental Voice for a People-Centered RevolutionThis posthumous collection brings together the essential writings of Muzan Alneel, a revolutionary intellectual, engineer, and activist whose life was cut tragically short at age 39. A cornerstone of Sudan's 2018 December Revolution, Muzan embodied a unique blend of grassroots organizing and rigorous scholarly analysis. Her work traversed the critical intersections of revolution, development, and global solidarity. The book's first section dissects the political dynamics of Sudan's uprising, providing crucial insights into the role of the Resistance Committees and the class struggles that define the country's revolutionary path. It offers an unparalleled analysis of the 'counter-revolution' and the challenges facing the transition to civilian rule.Part II pivots to Muzan's vision for a just and sustainable future, focusing on people-centred industrial policy. Through detailed evaluations of post-revolution Sudan and reflections on pan-African thinkers like Nyerere, she argues that economic transformation is not a technocratic exercise but a struggle over power, livelihoods, and dignity. She champions a model of development that empowers communities rather than private monopolies. The final section expands her vision to the global stage, showcasing her commitment to transnational solidarity. She makes powerful connections between the Sudanese revolution and the Palestinian struggle, arguing that a failure to support one is a failure to support all. This collection is not merely an archive of a great mind; it is a toolbox for activists and a blueprint for building a new, just world.Muzan Alneel-engineer, revolutionary, and organic intellectual-was a pulse of Sudan's historic December 2018 uprising and its voice to the world. This posthumous collection charts her urgent vision for a people-centred transformation. Combining activist theory and on-the-ground praxis, Muzan dissects the class struggles and grassroots organizing of the Resistance Committees, provides a clear-eyed critique of counter-revolutionary forces, and outlines a bold framework for sustainable, democratic industrial policy.Connecting the struggles of Sudan to Palestine and the Global South, her writings argue that genuine liberation must be built from the bottom up. A powerful repository of radical thought, this book is both a tribute to a brilliant thinker taken too soon and a vital resource for anyone committed to building a future defined by justice, freedom, and people's power.
