Reseña del editor:

The Ancient Greeks believed that »man-like« Amazons dwelled on the edge of the Oikoumene. In the millennia that have passed since then, the mystery of the warrior women has not lost its hold on our imagination. »The Lands of the Amazons« takes the reader on a compelling journey in the footsteps of those heroines of ancient legend, from the shores of Asia Minor to the North Black Sea Region. Its pages contain works of antique and modern art dedicated to the subject, as well as discussions of archaeological discoveries that have established a link between the Amazons and the peoples of ancient Scythia. This beautifully illustrated volume is intended to appeal to a wide audience.
