Es probable que la mayor�a de los ingenieros de antenas crean que las antenas son una tecnolog�a que es m�s o menos impermeable a la industria de semiconductores que avanza r�pidamente. Sin embargo, como se demuestra en esta conferencia, hay una manera de incorporar componentes activos en una antena y transformarla en un nuevo tipo de estructura radiante que puede aprovechar los �ltimos avances en el dise�o de circuitos anal�gicos. El enfoque para realizar esta transformaci�n es hacer uso de elementos de circuito no Foster en la red coincidente de la antena. Al hacerlo, ya no estamos limitados por las leyes de la f�sica que se aplican a las antenas pasivas. Sin embargo, ahora debemos dise�ar y construir circuitos activos muy sensibles. Esta nueva tecnolog�a de antena est� ahora en su infancia. Las contribuciones de esta conferencia son (1) para resumir el estado actual de la t�cnica en este tema, y (2) introducir algunas nuevas herramientas te�ricas y pr�cticas para ayudarnos a continuar el avance de esta tecnolog�a.
