The NWC is equivalent to the certificate awarded by the MCA to OOWs in the Merchant Service under the international Standardisation of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) agreements. The detailed theory of celestial navigation is provided.

Previous projects include the BMW Academy UK, Royal Navy and Royal Navy Reserve, Network Rail, Defence Fire and Rescue Service, and the Merchant Navy.

A Graduate of Kings College, University of Aberdeen with an MA Hons in Political Science and International Relations, Graduate of the Open University with a BSc Hons in Social Sciences and Postgraduate of the Open University with a PgCPSE in Applied Linguistics.
