Andreea-Oana Iacobuță-Mihăiță is a Professor of Economics at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. Her research interests are related to economics of development, institutional economics, and well-being.

The Romanian researchers are well versed not only in the world of economic thought (you will find references to the classics, but also to contemporary theorists), but above all in economic history. The authors are well aware of the specifics of Eastern Europe and its systemic differences. Studying the individual chapters, I noticed many parallels between the cases described in the various countries of the former communist system. This work also has great interdisciplinary value.
