Dr. Kefei Li works in Civil Engineering Department of Tsinghua University as tenured full professor, and principal investigator (PI) of the research group of building materials. He obtained his Ph.D degrees from Tongji University (2000) and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris (2002). His research fields include the physical and mechanics of cement-based materials, the durability of concrete materials and structures and the life-cycle engineering of concrete structures. He leads multiples national projects of research, publishes 100+ peer-reviewed papers, heads the draft team of the durability standards of China (CCES01 and GB/T 50476), and serves as associate editors for Cement and Concrete Research, Materials and Structures. He chairs the RILEM TC 289-DCM and has been Cluster convener of TAC and regional convener of China. He is also member of IABSE (deputy executive member of China group), fib (COM8) and ISO TC71/SC4.
Dr. Junjie Zeng obtained his PhD from Wuhan University of Technology, China. He is now senior engineer at CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. His research interests focus on cementitious materials, including its characterization and performance, durability of concrete under marine environment, supplementary cementitious materials for high performance concrete, and self-compacting concrete design and development for projects.
Luping Tang is full professor of building materials at Chalmers University of Technology. He has over 30 years’ experience in research of cementitious materials and their durability, especially transport mechanisms of aggressive substances, such as chlorides, and corrosion of reinforcement steel in concrete. His expertise includes application of electrochemical principles to testing cement-based materials and protecting/preventing steel reinforcement from corrosion. He is one of the developers of Rapid Chloride Migration test which has been adopted as standard test in many countries. He chaired RILEM TC 235-CTC “Corrosion initiating Chloride Threshold Concentrations in Concrete”.
Mette R. Geiker is a professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Department of Structural Engineering, Norway. She studied chemical engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and has worked 15 years in the industry and 25 years in academia. Her research interests include the structure-property relationship of cementitious materials in their fresh, hardening and hardened state, durability, service life prediction, and sustainability. Prof. Geiker is a member of ACI, fib and RILEM, and fellow of both ACI and RILEM.
Dr. Riccardo Maddalena, Associate Professor at Cardiff University’s School of Engineering (UK), directs the DURALAB, an advanced accelerated ageing testing facility. His research targets concrete industry decarbonisation by repurposing mineral waste and byproducts, and the development of biomimetic infrastructure materials. With expertise in cement and concrete science at nano- and bulk scales, he leads research projects on supplementary cementitious materials, novel non-destructive testing technologies for concrete structural health and life cycle assessments.
