This book explores multicultural religious interactions in Ancient Central and South Asia. Besides encompassing a vast chronological and geographical range, the themes of this book represent a broad illustration of the current main approaches, methodologies, and perspectives on Ancient Central and South Asia studies, including the establishment of new sacred spaces; the introduction of new rituals, ceremonies, and convivial practices; archaeological evidence for religious interaction, coexistence, and conflict, among others. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Marc Mendoza is an associate lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. His main research fields so far have been Alexander the Great, the Diadochi and early Hellenistic Central Asia, but he has also published papers on Achaemenid deportations, modern reception, and Catalan historiography. He is the co-director of Karanos: Bulletin of Ancient Macedonian Studies.

Ashwini Lakshminarayanan is a UKRI-Horizon Guarantee Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Cardiff University. Her work centres on religious material culture in the Indian subcontinent dating from the ancient to medieval periods (c.1st century BCE to the 15th century CE). In recent years, her publications have provided new interpretations of gender and rituals in Buddhist art, particularly in the corpus of Gandhāran art.
