G8A Architects wurde 2007 von den zwei Schweizer Architekten Manuel Der Hagopian und Grégoire Du Pasquier gegründet, als die zwei neben ihren Genfer Aktivitäten in Hanoi eine Dépendance eröffneten und künftig von beiden Standorten aus operierten.
Contrast and Cohesion – durchaus programmatisch gemeint für das Zusammenspiel eines Büros mit Projekten in der Schweiz und in Südostasien – ist nun das erste Buch über ihr Schaffen. 27 Bauten und Projekte in der Schweiz, in Vietnam, Südkorea, Singapur und Istanbul werden ausführlich vorgestellt, mit Fotografien, Modellfotos, Plänen und beschreibenden Texten. Sowohl das gebaute Werk von G8A Architects wie die ins Buch integrierten Essays zeigen die unterschiedlichen Voraussetzungen und Spielräume für Architektur in Mitteleuropa und Asien.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren
G8A Architects , founded in 2007 in Geneva, Switzerland, today operates with four offices in Geneva, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Singapore.
Patrick Bingham-Hall is an internationally renowned British-Australian architectural photographer, writer, and publisher.
Manuel Der Hagopian, geboren 1971, absolvierte seine Ausbildung zum Architekten am Institute d‘architecture der Université de Genève und an der Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville (ENSAPB). Er ist Gründungspartner von G8A Architects mit Büros in Genf, Zürich, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City und Singapore. Seit 2015 lehrt er als Gastprofessor an der Singapore University of Technology and Design. Grégoire Du Pasquier, geboren 1970, erwarb sein Diplom als Architekt an der EPFL in Lausanne. Er ist Gründungspartner von G8A Architects mit Büros in Genf, Zürich, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City und Singapore.
