Das Pariser Architekturbüro LAN (Local Architecture Network) wurde 2002 von Benoît Jallon und Umberto Napolitano mit der Idee gegründet, Architektur an der Schnittstelle mehrerer Disziplinen zu erforschen. Diese Haltung ermöglicht es ihnen, neue Lösungen für soziale, städtebauliche, ökologische und funktionale Fragestellungen zu finden. Ihre stark beachteten und oft preisgekrönten Bauten decken ein breites Spektrum an Massstäben, Typologien und Funktionen ab.
Derzeit arbeitet LAN an Projekten in Frankreich, Belgien, Deutschland, Italien und Slowenien und expandiert zudem im Nahen Osten und in Asien. Neben den architektonischen und städtebaulichen Entwürfen hat das Büro auch mit Büchern wie Paris Haussmann und Napoli Super Modern – beide bei Park Books erschienen – Aufsehen erregt. Nun stellt das Büro erstmals 29 seiner wichtigsten Bauten und Projekte in einem Buch vor, mit zahlreichen Fotografien, Modellfotos, Zeichnungen und Plänen.
