The present book offers chapters on China, Japan and Korea that can be read as single introductions in courses about Chinese, Japanese, or Korean history or more general in courses dealing with World or Global History during WWI. The chapters provide an insight related to the respective geographical context during the First World War, but as a whole the book also offers an introductory overview of this important transnational event and its role for the transformation of East Asia in the first half of the 20th century.
