Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr.-Ing. Klaus Schon studierte Elektrotechnik an der TU Berlin und ging 1969 nach seinem Abschluss als Dipl.-Ing. zur Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig. Hier befasste er sich im Hochspannungslabor zunächst mit den Eigenschaften von Isolierstoffen und promovierte 1975 über den Einfluss von Teilentladungen auf Kunststofffolien an der TH Darmstadt. Seine weiteren Aufgaben lagen in der Mess- und Kalibriertechnik im Hochspannungsbereich, insbesondere in den Bereichen Kapazität und Verlustfaktor, Teilentladungen, Stoßspannung und Stoßstrom. 1982 wurde ihm die Leitung des PTB-Hochspannungslaboratoriums und später die Leitung der Arbeitsgruppe "Messwandler und Hochspannung" übertragen. Dr. Schon war Mitglied in verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Arbeitsgremien, die sich mit der Hochspannungsprüf- und -messtechnik, Normung und Akkreditierung befassen.
